Estate perimeter railings
Railings are planned for the perimeter of the whole estate including Begbie House. We successfully obtained planning permission from Lambeth Planning and went through the tendering process and four contractors were invited to tender; only two returned a tender. After correction of errors in presentation these were:
- Blakedown Landscape (SE) Ltd - £256,000
- Calabasas Ltd - £290,000
- WC Evans and Sons (Eng) Ltd - no tender returned
- AHM Constructions Ltd - no tender returned
The contract for this project was awarded to Blakedown Landscapes and work is scheduled to start before the end of the year and will take approximately 16 weeks to complete. This project is partly funded by the Housing Opportunities Fund (HOF) in the sum of £47,000.
Renewal of covering to flat roofs
Renewal of coverings and necessary structural and other repair works to the flat roofs and associated fixtures and fittings and any works needing to be done at Colwall House, Goffton house, Waltham Housea and Burford House.
Works to block entrances
To continue smartening up the block entrances we will be painting the intake cupboards in the block entrance lobbies.
Addington, Thornicroft and Begbie bin shelters
To improve refuse disposal, bin shelters are planned to four areas in Addington and Thornicroft and one area of Begbie. The shelters proposed are wooden temporary stores to give the estate a tidy method of storing rubbish until a more permanent solution can be funded.
